Lake Clean With Darn Tough

The Friends of Waterbury Reservoir is an organization that prides itself on being a contributing member to the community, both on and off the reservoir! On June 7th, board members of FWR teamed up with 12 enthusiastic and energetic volunteers from Darn Tough Vermont to conduct a clean-up of the reservoir water, shorelines, and trails. Umiak Outdoor Outfitters donated the use of canoes for those who needed them, and the hearty band of Liter Picker Uppers headed out as soon as the mid-day thunderstorms departed. Vt. State Parks Ranger Ben Foltin provided suggested spots to clean, as well as on-water support. This cooperative effort was very successful, and indicative of how non-profit organizations, companies, and community members can work together. Thanks to all who participated!
